Summit Signature Homes Honored with Gold Key Award

At an evening billed as the Academy Awards for Chicagoland’s residential construction industry, Summit Signature Homes picked up a trio of impressive industry honors during the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago’s (HBAGC) annual gala on Dec. 1.

Summit Signature Homes president Matt Dill accepted Gold Key Awards for his boutique firm’s custom residences at 115 Walker in Clarendon Hills and 12431 Emily Lane in Mokena as well as a Silver Key honor for 238 Middaugh in Clarendon Hills.

Since 1972, the annual Key Awards have recognized the best in Chicagoland residential construction, including excellence in housing design and architecture. Judging teams comprised of industry peers visit all Key Award competitors and select the Bronze (third place), Silver (second place), and Gold Key (first place) honorees.

“It’s an absolute thrill to have professionals who know the residential construction world inside and out recognize the immense effort we commit to creating distinctive and compelling homes,” said Dill, a second-generation homebuilder.

Making the honors even more notable stands the fact that these three award-winning homes are the first residences completed under the Summit Signature Homes banner.

While Dill has been building custom residences for over a decade, he had done so previously under the umbrella of his 40-year-old family-run operation, Beechen & Dill Homes. In late 2011, Dill established Burr Ridge-based Summit Signature Homes to distinguish Beechen & Dill’s community development work from his emerging custom homebuilding enterprise.

“To have Summit’s first three completed residences receive such lofty industry honors shows us that we’re on the right track,” said Dill, who was also hailed as the Home Builders Association of Illinois’ “Builder of the Year” in 2011.

Indeed, Dill knows these early honors are merely the start of Summit Signature Homes’ ascent to the top.

In 2013, Dill looks to continue Summit’s innovative, envelope-pushing ways with custom homebuilding projects throughout the western suburbs. The firm largely focuses on infill projects, thereby creating new residences in established communities with limited available land.

“We created Summit Signature Homes with the goal of becoming the Chicago area’s premier luxury homebuilder. While these Key Awards recognize that we’re building high-quality, differentiated properties – a real testament to our vision for the firm – we are going to continue seeking ways to be better and bolder and exceeding our clients’ expectations,” Dill said.

With its focus on cutting-edge design, expert craftsmanship, and a customer-centric, hassle-free construction process, Dill calls Summit Signature Homes a “next generation” custom homebuilder. All new homes include an industry-leading 10-year structural warranty and energy-efficient building techniques, while Dill limits the number of new projects Summit accepts each year to ensure each client receives maximum attention to detail and customer service.
